AAAND ACTION: A GUIDE TO FILMMAKING

This course will take you through the basic skills needed for filmmaking. Tips and tricks from pre-production to post-production will grow your passion for telling stories. We will go through different exercises that prove anyone with a story can become a filmmaker. No previous knowledge on filmmaking needed.


Materials needed: Camera or Smartphone to film on, basic editing software like iMovie

ACT IT (AGES 8-13)

Participants will develop use of expression, gestures, and voice while acting/reading and develop literacy skills while reading a script and be exposed to new cultural & life stories.

ART WITH ME

Together we will learn that everything can be recreated into beautiful crafts and save it from going to waste! New old thing! We will work with raw materials and design handmade goodies that can be used for gifts, personal use or decoration. We are all little artists and through art we can figure out who we are, so let’s.


Materials needed: Will be requested depending on the age group

BUILD YOUR OWN FASHION EMPIRE

A fun interactive class designed to give students a wide range of knowledge in the field of modern fashion and clothing design by introducing them to the process of preparing their own fashion collection. Students will be creating a fashion portfolio, which is a fundamental step in creating their own fashion label. **No sewing in this course.

Materials needed: A3 Sketchbook, Pencil, Pen, Colored Pencils, Paint, Paint Brushes, Acrylic Paint/Watercolor Paint, Old Magazines, Scissors, Glue Stick, and Tracing Paper

EYES THROUGH A LENS: PHOTOGRAPHY 101

This course will examine what makes great photographs. We will learn how to use our eyes to create better pictures and learn skills to become better. Anyone with a passion for photography or is interested in learning more about it will benefit. No previous knowledge about photography is needed.


Materials needed: Camera or smartphone to take pictures.

DESIGN AND MAKE YOUR OWN JEWELRY

In this course you will be designing your own piece of jewelry & making it. You will also be learning basic gemology (study of gemstones).

Materials needed: Colored pencils, Pencil, Eraser, White paper, Scissors, Toothpick , White polymer clay/ Oven-bake clay, Acrylic paint (3 or more colors of choice), Small paint brush, and Jewelry Making Kit (beads, string, jump ring, etc...)

DRAWING & PAINTING

This class will show you easier ways on how to draw different types of animals with your palm of your hands and fingers. Also how to color your final drawing with watercolors.

Materials needed: Watercolor paper, pencil, eraser, black sharpie, watercolors, and small, medium & large sizes of brushes.

DRAW LIKE AN ARTIST

This course introduces children to the fundamentals of drawing, engaging them in fun drawing activities and allowing them a space to express their talents. By the end of this course, each child will learn how to draw 3D objects and create depth of field to form a realistic composition. Finally, each child will create a final project of a small drawing that demonstrates his/her learning outcome of this course. This will be in the form of a portrait, still life or landscape, depending on what the young artist is mostly interested in.

Materials needed: 4 pencils (HB - 2B - 4B - 6B), eraser, and Canson Drawing sketch (A3)

EXPERIMENTAL PAINTING TECHNIQUES (2D INTO 3D)

Materials needed: Acrylic Paint,  Sponge, Paintbrushes (assorted sizes + hair), Paint Spatula (Palette Knife),  Magazines (old), Parchment Paper (Waxed Oven Paper), Canson White Paper, Scissors, Needle + Thread, and Push Pins or Paper Clips

MAGICAL MOSAICS

(AGES 8-10)

In this course, we will have fun exploring the world of mosaic art: the different materials we can use, how to glue them on to our surface, and how to design a final fun product to decorate our walls with!


Materials needed: A complete "mosaic kit" will be provided before the course begins. This kit will include, a 20 x 20 cm wooden frame with a hook, a variety of precut mosaics including glass, ceramics, stones and shells; white pva glue. A personal photo of size 8 x 8 cm will be needed for this project. The students will be encouraged to add their own personal touch to their art by adding coins, stones or any remains of old jewelry or toys that they could recycle.

GRAPHIC DESIGN FOR KIDS

In this course children will learn how to use their creative messy doodles to create cool posters and graphics.We will work with different techniques digitally and manually to mix texts with photos and paintings to end up with creative art pieces. Some activities will be added to the course to open the wows of the child about the colors and the graphical elements in everything around them.


Materials needed: Magazines, paper, colors, glue, and scissors.

HIP HOP

Open to all levels. You will be learning a mix of Hip-hop and Breakdancing. i

INTRODUCTION TO MOBILE PHOTOGRAPHY

Understanding of light, how it affects our image, the fundamentals of mobile camera, photography rules, tips & tricks. and even editing!

Materials needed: Smartphone camera

JEWELRY MAKING

Making Jewelry is extremely satisfying and fun for boys and girls. In this course, we will learn with threads and beads how to make a masterpiece. We will use accessories to make awesome gifts to our family and friends.

LIVE THE JOURNEY OF A FASHION DESIGNER

Teens are naturally creative it's our job to give them tools and space to help their creativity blossom. And its a pleasure to help them explore their talents and try something new.


Materials needed: Uhu glue and scissor, unwanted fabrics, measurement tape, colors , pencil, eraser, paper. and fashion\clothes magazine hardcopy.

MAKEUP & SKINCARE 101 (AGES 11-13)

In this online course you will learn how to apply professional makeup for a variety or different looks - daytime, night time, photoshoots etc. Video demonstrations are included so you can study and learn the practical application of makeup. You will learn what products and tools to use to get the perfect skin and makeup.

Materials needed: Any makeup you can get your hand on like brushes, sponge, mascara, lipstick, foundation, blusher, eyeshadow, eyeliner, kohl, etc.

PAINT LIKE AN ARTIST

The best part of this course is making your own colors! We will learn how to create our own colors from simple materials. Children will be introduced to color theory, to learn how to create any kind of color from the primary colors. In order to understand painting as a medium, we need to look at its history. Children will learn about the major art epochs that influenced different painting styles and choose a style they want to work with.By the end of this course, each child is expected to create a final painting project (portrait, still life, landscape) that demonstrates his/her learning outcome of this course. (Note: in order to take this course, the child either must have taken the Drawing course or shows evidence of practical knowledge of the basics of drawing)

Materials needed: Oxides (oxides colors are brown, yellow, red, blue, green, black and zinc for white color, but it's fine if they cannot find all colors because this is only to teach them how to create the colors), a set of at least 6 acrylic/ gouache colors, PVA Glue, painting pallet, Canson Sketchpad (A3 - 240 gm or more), HB pencil - eraser

PIXEL ART MOSAICS

Participants will go through doing all the necessary steps to do a pixel art mosaic design as participants learn about the mosaic making process from design to completion through the following: introduction about Mosaic, introduction about pixel art, pixel art drawing with simple techniques and principles, and general guideline for mosaic making process.

Materials needed: A Kixel kit is a must (shipped directly in advance) and contains the following: grid sheet template, colored mosaic tiles, colors, wood board, crafted glue., and instructions.

PORTRAIT SKETCHING

he students will learn how to use lines to organize the shapes and proportion of the face. Then they will learn how to use shading to create tones and forms of the face features.Then finally, they will unify the elements of the portrait.

Materials needed: 2B pencill, sharpener, eraser, and sketch book (white paper) any size. 

PRECIOUS CHARMS: RESIN JEWELRY CASTING

Materials to be revised: Kit (Farah to prep), Epoxy 2 part Resin (From art store or hardware shop), Toothpicks Soft Pastel colors or Pencil Colors, Scissors, Gloves, Acetone + Cotton, and Parchment Paper (Waxed Oven Paper)

READERS' THEATRE (AGES 8-13)

Improve oral expression by interpreting characters in a story, practice fluency by reading and re-reading scripts, develop collaborative skills by working in ensemble, and Implement interpretive skills by transforming texts into meaningful performances using literary devices (character, setting, plot, theme)

SCRIPT WRITING FOR THE SOUL (AGES 11-13)

This course is all about script writing from A-Z, how to pick a theme, characters, plot and the vision and type of writing one wants to portray and project. Furthermore, students will be able to get creative with the stories they want to write and really understand what type of writing and story they want to let out into the world.

Materials needed: Notebook and a pencil or pen.

STUDIO PHOTOGRAPHY AT HOME

In this course kids will learn how to use simple elements around them at home, create a studio and make professional photographs. We will learn the basics of food- and product photography, using some tricks to make our photos look impressive. After one week, the child will end up with a collection of professional photos that they took all by themselves.


Materials needed: Camera (does not have to be a professional one, you can even use a smart-phone camera), white paper or cardboard, and any lighting unit (flashlight, desk lamp, etc.).

TELL A TALE THROUGH EXPRESSION (AGES 5-7)

Participants will develop and exercise creativity individually and as a group, explore emotional expressions through the face and body, and have fun!

THE BEGINNERS CROCHET GUIDE: LEARN TO KNIT YOUR OWN CLOTHES

This course will cover the basic crochet stitches and the skill of choosing the right yarn and needle for the project. Firstly, we will introduce all the possible designs and products we can achieve using just crochet, and then we will go over how to start the first chain for any project and how to follow from there by presenting the most basic stitches, and then following with some more complicated ones. Afterwards, we will go over the different transitions to achieve the target designs whether that be a scarf, an ice cap or a top etc. By the end of the course each student will have achieved their first crochet project ever! No one is too young to learn knitting, I learned to crochet when I as only 8 years old!

Materials needed: Crochet needle (preferably size 6.0 mm, but any size will do) and any type of yarn of preferably a bright color. Note: These materials can be ordered online from Souq.com in case there is no local store nearby

WATERCOLOR PAINTING (AGES 11-13)

Learn color theory, color mixing and mark making. Learn watercolor basics and different techniques (Wet in wet, dry brush, glazing, etc.). Learn about gradients and tone and how all techniques mentioned above can be applied to personal projects. Paint a variety of subjects from still life to animals, landscapes, portraits and many more.

Materials needed: Watercolor paints, watercolor paper (thick cartridge paper), brushes, pencil, eraser, and Sharpie.

DRAWING (AGES 11-13)

Learn basic drawing skills, mark-making techniques, shading and blending. Gain observational and analytical skills. Learn about scale, enlarging and perspective. Develop understanding of form, shape, tonal values and composition. Draw a variety of subjects from still life and animals to the construction of the figure and face.


Materials needed: Paper, graphite pencils (HB, B, 4B), eraser, kneaded putty rubber, ruler, and colored pencils.

ZUMBA

Open to all levels. You will be dancing a mix of Reggaeton, Zumba and Bollywood

RECYCLING JUNK INTO JEWELRY

Our homes are filled with unwanted items we can reuse and give life to in another form.So, why not make lovely accessories out of them? This class is an introductory eco-friendly jewelry course that builds on the idea of creating something out of nothing. Students will create their own unique jewelry pieces, while showcasing their green credentials. This course encourages students to think outside the box, while finding solutions that take sustainability into account.
